Many thanks to the members and friends of FCCW for your abundant response to the call to serve The Outdoor Church of Cambridge this Sunday!
Since the email went out on Monday we have had almost 30 people volunteer to buy ingredients, donate socks & scarves, make sandwiches, and deliver necessities and hope to the members of the Outdoor Church congregation. I was truly touched by the thoughtful and generous ways that so many of you responded to this ministry.
Before I left FCCW to start Field Education training in September I wondered if I could still be affective as the contact person for this outreach program. After all, Jena was the one who did all the logistical work, all I did was show up for the fun, that is the hands & foot work of this ministry. As the months have passed this doubt has dissipated because all of you are so open to see and to hear the cries of those who are less fortunate.
If you weren’t able to contribute this month there will be more opportunities to come. If you weren’t able to contribute this month there will be more opportunities to come. This year FCCW has also committed to work with Outdoor Church April 30th, July 30th, October 29th, & December 31st.Please contact me if you’d like more information.
It is my hope that your faith will be enriched by your tireless efforts to let the little “light of FCCW break forth like the dawn, by sharing your food with the hungry (Isaiah 58:7-8).”
